Botox & Xeomin Pre-Care and Post-Care: Your Flagstaff Guide
Botox and Xeomin soften frown lines, forehead creases, and crow's feet while keeping your expressions natural. They're also used for TMJ tension, excessive sweating, and migraines.
Your results depend on more than the injection itself. A little prep beforehand and simple aftercare make a real difference in your comfort, bruising, and how evenly the product settles.
Before Your Treatment ✅
About 1 week before (when medically safe — never stop prescribed meds without your doctor):
Avoid blood thinners: aspirin, ibuprofen/NSAIDs, fish oil, vitamin E, ginkgo, ginseng, high-dose vitamin C
24–48 hours before:
No alcohol (it makes bruising more likely)
Skip intense workouts on the day of your appointment
Day of:
Arrive hydrated and having eaten
Come with clean skin, no makeup on the treatment area
Tell us if you get cold sores (for treatment near the mouth)
Book at least 2 weeks before any big event
💡 Flagstaff tip: our elevation dries out skin and increases sun exposure — arrive hydrated and let us know about any recent sunburn.
After Your Treatment 💧
First 4 hours:
Stay upright — no lying flat, bending over, or naps
Gently frown, raise your brows, and squint a few times in the first hour (we'll confirm if this applies to you)
First 24 hours:
Don't touch, rub, or massage the area
No facials, microdermabrasion, or lying face-down
No alcohol
First 24–48 hours:
Skip strenuous exercise, saunas, hot tubs, and hot yoga
Stay out of direct sun and heat
Once redness settles:
Apply broad-spectrum SPF 30+ (extra important at Flagstaff's altitude)
Makeup is okay after about 24 hours
What's Normal vs. When to Call
Totally normal: small bumps at injection sites, minor redness, slight tenderness, and occasional light bruising — usually gone within hours to a few days.
Be patient: results start in 3–5 days and are full at 10–14 days. We'll check any touch-ups at your 2-week mark.
Call us right away if you notice: eyelid or brow drooping, significant asymmetry, difficulty swallowing, or signs of an allergic reaction. These are uncommon, but we want to hear from you.
Quick FAQ
How long do results last? Usually 3–4 months, often longer with consistent treatments.
Can I exercise the same day? Light activity is fine — save intense workouts for the next day.
Botox vs. Xeomin? Both are excellent. Xeomin has no added proteins, which some clients prefer. Cynthia will help you choose.
